Newquay Zoo storm damage update

Newquay Zoo has been closed to visitors since last weekend following extensive damage from Storm Arwen. We would like to thank all those who have enquired to see if we are okay, and would like to reassure all of our supporters that we have made the necessary repairs and intend to open as normal on Saturday 4th December.

We sustained significant damage to a number of large trees during the storm, including one tree which fell into our lake. This caused substantial damage to essential services, as well as providing a potential escape route to our lemurs, who live on islands on the lake. Removing the tree safely and repairing the damage was a complicated task, however we are happy to report that it has now been removed. All of our animals are safe and well, and we look forward to welcoming visitors back at the weekend. We extend a huge thank you to everyone involved in the clean-up and repair work this week.
